To begin, these elements are necessary to be a successful performing band in today's music industry:
- Well-trained musicians in every position.
- A tight, well-rehearsed band.
- Displaying on-stage emotion and interaction with crowd and other band members.
- A band that wears it's music style and carries it uniformly throughout all it's members.
- Bands & musicians that do not out-price their performances and combined talent.
- The ability to be flexible, have variety and perform enthusiastically.
- Displaying professionalism while on or off stage.
- Being prepared for challenges and emergencies.
The rating scale is 1-10. Either a full point, a 3/4 point or a 1/2 point is awarded for each of the following based on a 1/2 point-being Good, 3/4 point-very good and 1 full point for excellence. We never critique the first song or even the first set.
Bad News for bands and musicians falling below 6 total points. We won't list you.

- Band Tightness
- Price Versus Total Talent
- Singers Musicianship/Range
- Lead Guitarists Musicianship & Soloing Ability
- Drummers Musicianship/Ability/Tempo
- 1 Additional Members Ability (Best of remaining is chosen)
- Band Performance (all members collectively) emotion, movement, interaction.
- Style of Dress befitting venue and/or music style.
- Professionalism (on and off stage)
- Sound (ability to identify & display sound properly for the space afforded)
